Biography of John Zeretzke

Zeretzke's scores have been performed live at the Aspen Music Festival, Madison Square Garden, Rockefeller Center, Peabody Conservatory of Music and with the United States Marine Band Percussion Ensemble in Washington D.C. His completion and world premiere of "Pulsemus Tympanum" - orchestral work for 16 classical and world percussionists, string orchestra and hand percussion with world famous percussionist and soloist Jamie Haddad (Paul Simon) of New York met with critical acclaim at the 1998 Aspen Music Festival.

In the fall of 2000, Zeretzke won first place in the Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur International Composing Competition for Dance in Quebec, Canada. Zeretzke received this prestigious award in competition with composers from around the world. "Susurri, (Latin for 'whisperings'), was written for strings, woodwinds, world and classical percussion instruments.

Zeretzke has composed and recorded numerous source and world music based scores for Paramount Pictures, Disney, Kushner-Locke Productions and recently for Discovery Channel. Zeretzke's music has also been heard on many trailers for feature films.
